Roaccutane is an oral drug containing active substance Isotretinoin which is a retinoid and is made from a synthetic form of vitamin A. The compound represents an efficient post cycle therapy drug and is used by athletes and bodybuilders to counter several important effects caused by anabolic steroids use.
Roaccutane is able to destroy the quickly dividable cells and inhibits the excessive growth of the epithelial cells of sebaceous glands that this leads to the reduction of the skin fat production and consequently to the effective cure of acne and pustules. Because acne is one of the most common side effects of anabolic steroids, Roaccutane is a very important medication for bodybuilders in PCT.
The usual dosage at the start of the treatment is not higher than 20 mg of Roaccutane with a gradual increase, depending on individual tolerance and needs. The treatment with Roaccutane lasts usually for periods of 16-20 weeks followed by a period of rest. Roaccutane should be taken with a full glass of water to prevent the medication inside the capsule from irritating the esophagus.
The most common side effects that may occur after using Roaccutane are: dry skin, inflamed and cracked lips, eyes irritations, pain in the muscles and joints, vigorous physical activity should be avoided while taking this medicine. Some athletes may also experience temporary hair thinning, headache, increased sensitivity to sunburn, decreased night vision, vomiting, diarrhea, severe chest or abdominal pain and difficulty swallowing and several mood swings.
